Lord Petyr Baelish (Littlefinger)
Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire
Inspiration: This costume was made for my husband, though I do love Littlefinger in the books and I thought my husband definitely did the character justice!
Materials/Construction Details: It wasn’t possible to find the exact pattern they used in the show, so the main coat was made out of some curtains we found that we thought were similar enough. I used the simplicity pattern for a Matrix costume with some minor modifications. The vest on top was made from some upholstery fabric from JoAnn’s that had a nice texture to it. The pleats were sewn down to keep them in place and once it was all sewn together I started the very long process of painting all the gold dots on it. I also made a light blue shift out of linen for him to wear underneath.
Wig: He used his real hair for this costume, but added the white to the sides with a toothbrush and some white body makeup.
Prop: Most of the props were put together by Tom himself, but I did make the pouch he wore at his side and helped him with piecing things together. He had a dagger on his right side and gold coins in his pouch on his left. He sculpted his mockingbird brooch out of air dry clay.
Great work! I want to make this exact costume, but I wonder what kind of measurements you used for the shoulders and neck?
