Josie and the Pussycats

Inspiration: The idea for this costume was originally Samu-chan’s, but the three of us made it work and we had an amazing time! While working on this costume, I watched a ton of episodes of the old Josie cartoon and I had the theme song in my head for weeks!

Materials/Construction Details: The body suit was made out of white and leopard print spandex. I bought the shoes from Good Will and covered them in the same material. The ears were made by Yaya Han and then covered in the same leopard print and sewn into the wig. The tail was based off my Felicia tail. I cut the shape out of muslin, stuffed it, and then covered it in spandex, painted the tip black, and attached it to an elastic waistband.

Wig: I got this wig on ebay, but instead of the standard bob, I went with something a little more modern.

Prop: The guitar was from a video game, which I borrowed from a friend and added the ‘Josie and the Pussy Cats’ decal to. Carrying it around made me wish I knew how to play the guitar!
