Ritsu Tainaka ~ “Listen!”
K-On!
Inspiration: At this point it seemed my group of friends and I were determined to do a lot of K-On costumes, so when the second ending of the series aired, it was an unspoken decision among us to make these outfits. They were easy enough costumes to make anyway and oh so 80s.
Materials/Construction Details: I couldn’t find the right colored green in a good fabric for the top, so I ended up doing some very light dye work. The pattern for the top was basically two pieces in a wide Y shape sewn together. Tiny light blue circles were cut out and ironed on around the collar. A large black oval was also cut out and ironed on under the left armpit. That was basically all there was to it…the black leggings, headband, belt, black undershirt, yellow pumps, and black gloves (Mio has the other one) were all purchased.
Wig: I had this wig from a previous Ritsu costume. It’s getting a lot of use. I just had to switch the yellow headband out for a black one.

I’m doing the exact same cosplay right now and yours was one I looked for reference. To actually find your blog was a huge coincidence! I’m doing dye work as well, just bought a XXL white t-shirt. I already had one dyed but it was all sorts of wrong. Congratulations on a great portrayal of Ritsu!
